The contract was a fixed price contract for partial demolition of an existing structure, complete gut and renovation of the remaining existing structure and ground up new construction leading to a new building of approximately 20,000 sf.

The work included all facets of construction from division 1 through 33. The project entailed a unique complexity as half of the existing structure had to be retained with necessary shoring and bracing and the new structure had to seamlessly integrate with the existing to result in a new facility.

The construction site was situated on the extremely busy intersection of 11th and Harvard Streets, NW, which involved traffic management and coordination with the neighborhood.
