Rehabilitation of the Arcade Building, Caretakers Cottage, Crystal Pool, First Aid Building and New Construction of the Yellow Barn.
The project was a historic restoration and complete renovation of several buildings at Glen Echo Park. The project owner was the ‘National Park Service’ and the construction managers were Montgomery County Government, Maryland.
The scope of work included complete demolition and new construction of the 5500 square feet new yellow barn facility with extensive concrete foundation / retaining walls, historic stone masonry reconstruction, vertical transportation, plumbing, fire sprinkler, mechanical, controls, electrical and fire alarm system work. The renovation of the arcade building included new roofing, new canopy and tower framing, storefronts, new mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, electrical and fie alarm systems. The project also entailed rehabilitation of the caretakers’ cottage, first aid building, crystal pool, and demolition of the bath building.
Consys, Inc. was the general contractor for the project and was responsible for the entire project from start to finish.
